Care
At Babusia we create high-quality knitted pieces made from carefully selected materials. With the right care, these items will serve you for many years to come. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your knitted pieces in perfect condition.
🧺🧴 Washing Instructions
• Hand washing is always the best choice. If you don’t have the time or opportunity, consider taking your item to a professional cleaner.
• Use cool water (below 30°C) to prevent fiber damage and pilling.
• Choose mild detergent, special wool soap, or even your regular hair shampoo for a gentle clean.
• Sort your items. Do not mix knitted pieces with other materials. Woolen garments should be washed separately.
• If you decide to use a washing machine, always select the delicate cycle and place the item in a mesh laundry bag to protect it from the drum’s impact.
• Turn garments inside out before washing to minimize pilling on the outer surface.
• Do not overload the washing machine; knitted items need space to move freely.
• Avoid soaking or vigorous scrubbing. Gently squeeze out excess water, but never twist or wring wool and viscose fabrics.
🌀🏠 Drying & Storage
• Lay flat to dry on a clean, dry towel or mesh drying rack. Hanging knitted items can cause them to stretch and lose shape.
• Always store your knitted garments folded and placed on a shelf, never on a hanger. Hanging may lead to unwanted stretching and deformation.
• Use a lavender sachet in your storage space to keep moths away and leave a pleasant scent.
• Ensure your storage area is well-ventilated. Avoid vacuum-sealed bags or overcrowded spaces, as knitted fabrics need to “breathe.”
🌿🧶 Maintaining & Refreshing
• If pilling occurs, do not pull the fibers by hand or use a razor. Instead, use a fabric shaver designed for knitwear.
• A steamer can work wonders in refreshing your garments, helping the fabric regain its original shape and even out stitches. Be gentle and precise for the best results.
• If your garment gets wet, let it dry naturally while maintaining its original shape. Avoid direct heat sources such as radiators or sunlight.
By following these care instructions, you will keep your beloved "Babusia" knits looking and feeling beautiful for years to come.
With love, Babusia
